Here are the stories that made a splash in the Atlanta food world this week.
Arnette’s Chop Shop has hired three new staff members ahead of its planned Brookhaven opening next month.
The restaurant is a venture Michel Arnette, Steve Rayman and Stephen Herman, business partners for Word of Mouth Restaurants, the umbrella group for Brookhaven favorites Vero Pizzeria, Haven and Valenza. Herman will also serve as executive chef.
Scott Spilberg, who will serve as general manger, previously worked at Smith and Wollensky’s and BLT Steak; Chet Huntley will serve as assistant general manager; and Charlie Sanders, who has worked with Kevin Rathbun Steak and Bones, will serve as manager.
The eatery, which will be located at 2700 Apple Valley Road, will offer “a classic steakhouse menu with Chef Stephen Herman’s modern twist,” according to a press release.
Developed by Stream Realty Partners, the Apple Valley Brookhaven development is a paper plant-turned-adaptive-reuse project featuring more than 69,000 square-feet of office and restaurant space.
