An Italian restaurant that took the place of a pizzeria is now open for business in Brookhaven.
Amore Kitchen & Bar is located in the Town Brookhaven development in a space previously occupied by Ohio-based chain PizzaFire, which closed in November.
The restaurant, which also has a location in Stamford, Conn., is owned by Bruno DiFabio, who has appeared on the Food Network several times and won the World Pizza Cup in Naples in 2008, according to Amore’s website.
The menu features a variety of starters, salads, pastas, entrees and “gastro-pizzas” including the Beast of Burden, made with ground tomatoes, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, ricotta, shaved grana and parsley; the “OTP” DiLorenzo Style made with mozzarella, ground tomatoes, sausage, oregano and olive oil; and the Juliet, made with mozzarella, gorgonzola dolce, prosciutto, fig jam, balsamic glaze and shaved grana padana.
The spot also offers a kids menu, happy hour menu and Sunday brunch menu with items such as breakfast pizzas and sandwiches, as well as a Bloody Mary bar and bottomless mimosas. The cocktail program serves up “Prohibition era and trending” cocktails, according to a press release.
The interior of the restaurant will feature “modern-rustic décor and hand painted murals” from Connecticut-based artists.
