Usher in Sukkot
Celebrate Jewish harvest festival Sukkot with a Sukkot Farm-to-Table Festival, featuring a farmers market, garden workshop, food from spots including Yalla, Oy Veg and Souper Jenny, community cook-off and demonstrations from chefs including Seth Freedman of PeachDish and Alex Lampert of Kimball House.

Check out the reimagined Colony Square
North American Properties recently announced that mixed-use community Colony Square will reopen along with Main & Main food hall, retail shops and a movie theater. Check out a taste of what’s to come at the project’s groundbreaking, with food samples from Steve Palmer of Sukoshi and Donetto and the chef-curator of the hall, as well as cocktails from Sunshine Alchemy and mixologists from Establishment. The event will also feature live music and an appearance by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

If you’ve been meaning to try the culinary offerings at Alpharetta mixed-use development Avalon, this is the month to do it. Avalon Restaurant Week offers diners prix fixe lunch or dinner menus at $15, $25 or $35 price points (prices are per person and exclude alcohol, tax and gratuity). Participating restaurants include Antico Pizza, Barleygarden, Branch & Barrel, Brine Seafood Shack, Café Intermezzo, Colletta, Crú Wine Bar, Kona Grill, Oak Steakhouse and Ted’s Montana Grill.

Keep it kosher in Dunwoody
Returning for the fifth year, the Atlanta Kosher BBQ Festival will feature dozens of barbecue tastings from more than 20 teams of competitors, with attendees able to sample each team’s offerings for $1 per tasting. The event will also offer kosher vendors, a beer garden, live music and a kids area. Profits from the festival will be donated to local nonprofits including Helping Feed Atlanta, Jewish Education Loan Fund and Cobb County Police Department K-9 Unit. Attendees are also asked to bring kosher canned food items for donation.
