Barbecue and beer venue to be part of new Marietta Whole Foods and other top Atlanta dining news from the week

Whole Foods Market is set to open a new store on Friday, Oct. 6 in Kennesaw at 1300 Ernest Barrett Parkway. A relocation of Whole Foods Market’s Harry’s Farmers Market store in Marietta, which will close October 5, the new store will feature offer opening day product demonstrations and samples, and the first 500 customers will receive free gifts cards ranging in amounts from $5 to $50 with one $500 card. Five percent of opening day sales will be donated to the Swift-Cantrell Foundation, which supports the development of Kennesaw’s Swift-Cantrell Park.

The store will feature Revelator Coffee, which recently bought Atlanta-based Octane Coffee and is also offered at the recently-opened Chamblee Whole Foods, as well as spices, sauces and meats from Marietta’s Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q. Also look out for Hops ‘n’ Sauce, an in-store barbecue and beer venue; Tori Bird by Genji featuring sushi and karaage, Japanese fried chicken tossed in sauces such as Yuzu Citrus Mayo, Orange Sauce, Curry Salt and Classic Texas BBQ.

A free block party will be held in front of the store from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 with music, kids activities, food and samples. Sign up here.
