HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern will be opening its second location in Town Brookhaven on July 10. Along with tavern fare and southern dishes, the restaurant will feature an extensive beverage menu, including craft beer, cocktails and boozy milkshakes. HOBNOB Tavern will open in the former Smash Kitchen & Bar space at 804 Town Blvd., Ste. 1010, and will be open for lunch, dinner and brunch.

Also new to Town Brookhaven is a new build your own pizza joint, PizzaFire. The customizable pizza place opened last week. It is the first location for the Ohio-based franchise, which has locations throughout Ohio and set to open in Pittsburgh, Miami and Houston.

Smokebelly BBQ in Buckhead is opening its patio up to our furry friends. Guests can now bring their dogs along with them while they soak up the sun and enjoy some barbecue. And to prevent your dog from getting overheated, the patio has over-sized umbrellas and plush “grass” carpets to keep their paws cool.

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q and Taqueria del Sol are teaming up to introduce a new taco. The “hog taco” is created with Fox Bros. chopped brisket, Taqueria’s fried onion strips and chile de arbol mayonnaise on a flour tortilla. The tacos will be sold for $3 at both restaurants from June 19-June 25. All proceeds will go to Hogs for the Cause, the premier fundraiser for pediatric brain cancer in the U.S.

The Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour is stopping in Alpharetta on Saturday for a day of barbecue and competition. 30 local teams will compete for a chance to win $10,000 and head to the regional championship. During the competition, teams will compete in four categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt and brisket. Local female pit master, Tina Cannon of The Pit Crew GA, will be among those competing tomorrow. Cannon is known as the first woman to win the regional Sam’s Club National BBQ event and will be working towards another win on Saturday. Throughout the day, barbecue enthusiasts can enjoy the competition along with barbecue demonstrations and samples. The event is free to the public and will be held at 10600 Davis Drive.
