Radio Roasters coffee and AtlantaFresh buttermilk have been named among the Best Southern Made Products by Southern Living Magazine.
The 2017 Food Awards have recognized these two Atlanta companies after being tested and tasted by Southern Living’s Test Kitchen editors. Award winners are featured in the June issue of Southern Living, which hits newsstands May 26.
Radio Roasters coffee was founded in 2013 by Chip Grabow. Grabow roasts beans at his facility on East Ponce de Leon Avenue. He recently partnered with the coffee shop Cafe + Velo to supply them with coffee beans for all of its coffee beverages.
From its humble beginnings in 2009 selling its products at local farmer’s markets, AtlantaFresh can now be found on the shelves of 130 Whole Foods stores.
Owner Ron Marks credits his company’s success to the local food movement. “Our first customers were Star Provisions and Alon’s, and we sold at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market that first year. We continue selling there to this day. We’re an Atlanta-based company and we think the Peachtree Road Farmers Market was instrumental in getting us established as a credible food artisan in the city.”
