Cinco Mexican Cantina is headed to Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody. The local, family-owned Mexican concept will make its home in the space vacated by Chico’s, and next to Maggiano’s in the mall’s restaurant row.
Cinco vice president Kelly Lackey said that the company just inked the lease on the space and hopes to open doors by October 1.
The Perimeter location will mark the fourth for the upscale Mexican restaurant concept. Other Cinco eateries are located in Atlanta at Akers Mill Square, Suwanee and Cumming.
Lackey stated that Cinco is current updating its menu of “Latin-infused Mexican cuisine.” “We are looking to bring in more trendy and happy hour items,” she said. While dishes are still in the conceptual stage, additions may include twists and turns with ahi tuna beyond Cinco’s signature ahi tuna totopos, as well as offerings for pork tenderloin, pork carnitas and skirt steak with tradition and non-traditional sauces. On the beverage side, look for more handcrafted margaritas and a curated wine list. The new menu will roll out at all Cinco locations in conjunction with the debut at Perimeter Mall.
Cinco has tapped Lawrenceville-based Z-Space Design for interior design services. Like Cinco’s sister locations, the 290-seat space at Perimeter Mall will feature a long communal table. It will also have a 100-seat mezzanine dining area and an indoor-outdoor bar. Other focal points will include a water wall near the reception area and a wine wall to house an expanded wine collection.
“Everything needs to be ‘out of the box,’” Lackey said. “We don’t like building cookie-cutter restaurants where everything looks the same.”
Cinco is the latest addition to Perimeter Mall — Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria recently announced it will take over the space vacated by Varasano’s last year.
