Three Georgia artisan food producers have been named finalists for 2017 Good Food Awards.
Bee Wild, Mtn Honey and Oliver Farm all earned judges’ approval at this year’s Good Food Awards. The companies were among 193 winners in 14 categories, and chosen from more than 2,000 entrants across 38 states.
Bee Wild was honored for its 100-percent Pure and Raw Sourwood Honey, produced in the mountains of north Georgia.
Also winning in the honey category was MtnHoney, with its Spring Wildflower produced from apiaries in Clarkesville, Georgia.
Held annually in San Francisco, the Good Food Awards honor food products free of artificial ingredients, hormones, synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer and genetically modified ingredients.
Winners were determined after a blind tasting of entries that met standards for environmentally sound agriculture practices, good animal husbandry, sourcing transparency and responsible relationships throughout the supply chain.
Awards were given in the categories of beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, cider, coffee, confections, fish, honey, oils, pantry, pickles, preserves and spirits.
