Happy New Year!

Marietta

If you’re looking for places for a bite to eat on NYE in Marietta, consider Chicken and the Egg for a low-key vibe and hearty farm-to-table fare with a Southern slant. The restaurant’s New Year’s menu will feature options like hangar steak, a filet with fried Maine lobster tail or snow crab legs, grouper, shrimp and grits and the restaurant’s signature buttermilk fried chicken. The special menu is available 5-10 p.m., on Dec. 30 and 31.

Also in Marietta, sister restaurants Seed Kitchen & Bar and Stem Wine Bar (located next to each other in the Merchant’s Walk shopping center) are offering a $75 four-course, prix fixe menu on Dec. 31, with optional wine pairing for an additional $25. Choose from appetizers like house-made burrata, crab salad or roasted butternut squash soup, and entrees like sweet potato ravioli, butter poached Maine lobster or grilled pork porterhouse, among plenty of other options.

Gwinnett

Keep it casual and flavorful in Duluth with dinner at 04W Pizza, located on Main Street. The original Grandma Pie—a 16-in. square pizza crafted from fresh mozzarella, homemade marinara, pecorino romano, EVOO, fresh oregano and basil—is a simple, but trusty standby. There are also Spicy Italian and Veggie Square renditions of the Grandma for those with more adventurous palates. A host of other pizzas—from Sicilian to wood-fired and classic rounds—are also on tap, in addition to heroes, calzones, homemade cavatelli and other Italian specialties. 3117 Main St., Duluth. 678-587-5420, o4wpizza.com

Or opt for a dressier dinner in Peachtree Corners and head to Noble Fin for New Year’s Eve. The restaurant will be celebrating its first NYE dinner with a special prix fixe menu with choices starting at $75 per person (their regular menu will also be offered). Entrée options will include dishes like pan-roasted red snapper with a mango pico, duck a la plancha with purple sweet potato gnocchi, a prime New York strip loin/ribeye or champagne risotto.

North Fulton

In North Fulton, Oak Steakhouse—located in Alpharetta’s Avalon—will be open at 5 p.m. on NYE, with the last seating at 11 p.m. The traditional steakhouse with a modern twist boasts warm wood tones inside that make for a cozy, classic date night. On NYE, the restaurant will be offering fun extras like bellini flights, caviar, and a special champagne toast at midnight. On their regular menu, try the goat cheese agnolotti or scallops with crispy pork belly, before moving on to a wide variety of classic steaks and shareable sides (the truffle frites are a crowd-pleaser).

In the hart of historic Crabapple, Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails will be serving a $65 prix fixe menu on Dec. 31. Cooking up regionally inspired comfort food, Milton’s features contemporary Southern fare, with veggies and herbs sourced right from its private farm out back. Their special New Year’s Eve menu will include items like lobster bisque and blackened tuna tataki, among other first course options, in addition to second-course offerings of bacon-wrapped grouper and filet mignon with a fingerling potato, asparagus and chorizo hash, and more. For dessert, we’d order the mudslide mason jar.
