DISH OF THE WEEK: Reuben Egg Rolls at Olde Blind Dog

Korean flavors stuffed inside Mexican tacos. Tastes of India with a dash of the American South. We’re down with fusion. But among marriages of two cuisines, it’s not often that we encounter an Irish-Chinese wedding.

The Rueben egg rolls at Olde Blind Dog are a tasty Emerald Isle and Asian pairing that make for a nice change-up in pub fare.

The Kilkenny Reuben is one of Olde Blind Dog’s most popular sellers, featuring slow-cooked corned beef, sauerkraut and aged Irish cheddar piled between slices of rye bread. The oriental iteration sees the same trio, this time tightly rolled inside egg roll wrappers.

Fried to a crisp and served with a house-made Thousand Island dressing for dipping, this bar snack is like a hand-held Reuben that leaves your other hand free to pick up that pint of Guinness.
