Atlanta rapper T.I.’s embattled restaurant and bar, Scales 925, has closed and will be replaced by a new concept.

What Now Atlanta reports that The League Tavern will take over the space at 30 Ivan Allen Blvd. NW#125 in Atlanta. The spot will reportedly be an upscale sports bar. There is no confirmation on who is involved in the new venture.

T.I. and Scales 925 were sued in July by employees who said they never received their final paychecks.

Scales 925 opened in mid-2015 to much fanfare. AJC food writer Elizabeth Lenhard gave the restaurant zero stars when she reviewed it later that year, calling the food “pretty terrible.”

This seems to be a trend with rappers who open upscale restaurants. The same thing happened with Puffy's restaurant and Jermaine Dupri's restaurant. If you're going to put your name on a business, make sure you're active and visible. By the way, I ate at all three restaurants, and the food was mediocre at best.

As a "wealthy celebrity/business owner" How are you going to push for better treatment and equality for your community by means of protesting and artistic expression but yet have the nerve to not pay them money you owe that they feed their families with, are you acting like you care for brownie points, or does that care only apply when the government oppresses a people.

He had a partnership and that partner stole the money. He's still shares responsibility, he should have been more involved. A restaurant is not a great investment.

So judgemental!! It would help you if you knew both side of the story.

If I worked for somebody and they didn't pay me I don't care about their side of the story, it has nothing to do with what I'm legally owed as an employee. If your employer made the wrong business move with a partner that's on them they still owe me.
